Our Expertise

Expert Referral Network

Some conditions and patients may benefit from a sub-specialist (for example in Micrographic surgery, Paediatrics, Genetics, Plastic Surgery, Psychodermatology).

If this is the case, following your appointment,

Dr. Thomas will gladly identify, recommend and refer you to trusted sub-specialists.

What to Expect

1. Initial appointment

The time you have with a Doctor should be focused on getting to the bottom of your concern and providing solutions. Prior to your visit, we will request background medical information and medications via a pre-clinic form. The more information you are able to provide, the better we will be able to help.

At your initial appointment, Dr. Thomas will make an assessment through a combination of visual analysis and questions around the history of your condition. Diagnosis and treatment options will then be discussed, which may include medicines, removal of lesions or other therapies such as laser or cryotherapy. Treatment plans are developed collaboratively and you will be provided with an evaluation of the potential benefits, risks, and alternatives.

It is important to be aware that a diagnosis cannot always be confirmed on the day of your first visit and treatment may need to be delayed if additional tests such as a biopsy or blood tests are required.

2. Procedures

Dr. Thomas performs a number of procedures, such as surgical removals of lesions and skin cancers, cryotherapy for warts, sun damage and skin tags, as well as Laser procedures for acne, acne scarring, facial redness and sun damage. Some procedures, such as large skin excisions that require flaps or grafts or Mohs micrographic surgery are best referred to a plastic surgeon and Dr. Thomas will advise in this instance.

3. Follow up

Your appointment will then be followed up by a letter, addressed directly to you and any requested CC’s (such as your GP). We will typically contact you at a later date to arrange follow-up for a time of your choosing, should you wish. For those unable to visit regularly, we can provide treatment plans for your local practitioners to follow

4. Fees

We have provided estimated fees for common tests and procedures that may be recommended, if required to fully diagnose and treat issues.

We also understand that some treatments can be costly, which is why we prioritise safety and effectiveness, while working closely with you to ensure that the care provided is both appropriate and sensitive to your circumstances.
